BlackRock has added to its Strategy, IBIT and Strive positions in its latest 13F, lifting combined holdings across the three past $2.2 billion.
BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager with $15.3 trillion in assets under management, increased its exposure to three Bitcoin-linked equities over the second quarter, according to its latest 13F-HR filing with the SEC.
Recent disclosures show that BlackRock added 1,640,399 shares of Strategy (MSTR), a 9.24 per cent increase. Following the purchase, its total holdings in the company now stand at 19,394,284 shares, worth $1.69 billion. Strategy currently holds 840,447 Bitcoin on its balance sheet, the largest holding of any public company.
BlackRock also added 1,024,742 shares of the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), a 7.31 per cent increase, taking the position to 15,034,046 shares worth $500.5 million. BlackRock is IBIT's issuer; the fund holds Bitcoin directly on behalf of shareholders and is the largest spot Bitcoin ETF by assets.
The largest percentage increase came in Strive (ASST), where BlackRock added 1,636,854 shares, a 45.1 per cent rise, taking the position to 5,266,454 shares worth $57.5 million. Strive holds 20,167 Bitcoin on its balance sheet.
The filing underscores continued institutional accumulation of Bitcoin-linked equities across both active and passive vehicles. As Strategy, IBIT and Strive continue to build out their respective positions, further disclosures from large asset managers like BlackRock are expected in upcoming quarters.
