Jack Dorsey’s Block Inc. Increases Bitcoin Holdings to 9,117 BTC

Block, Inc. (XYZ), the payments and financial technology company founded by Jack Dorsey, has increased its corporate Bitcoin treasury to 9,117 BTC as of June 30, 2026, according to the company’s latest quarterly filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The figure represents a rise from 8,883 BTC at the end of 2025. During the first half of 2026, Block purchased an additional 234 bitcoins for long-term investment purposes — 149 BTC in the first quarter and 85 BTC in the second quarter. The company did not sell any of its investment holdings during the period.

As of June 30, the Bitcoin investment carried a fair value of approximately $533.9 million and a cost basis of $310.2 million. The company recorded remeasurement losses of $88.5 million in the second quarter and $261.3 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026, reflecting declines in Bitcoin’s market price during the period.
In addition to its long-term investment holdings, Block held roughly 299 BTC for operating purposes at quarter-end. These coins, valued at about $19.5 million, are used to facilitate customer Bitcoin purchases and sales on Cash App and are classified separately under other current assets.
Block has maintained a consistent approach of accumulating Bitcoin on its balance sheet while integrating the asset into its consumer products. The company continues to allow Cash App users to buy, sell, and store Bitcoin, with customers retaining legal ownership of any coins held in the platform’s wallets.
The latest increase places Block among the larger publicly disclosed corporate Bitcoin holders, though still well behind leaders such as Strategy. The company has not indicated any change in its long-term strategy of holding Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset.
