SpaceX’s Q2 2026 earnings confirmed the company did not sell any of its Bitcoin. In its first quarterly report as a public company, the Elon Musk-founded space firm reported digital assets of $1.098 billion as of June 30, down from $1.637 billion at the end of 2025. The decline represents an unrealized mark-to-market loss driven by Bitcoin’s price drop over the first half of the year rather than any actual sales.

Although the filing refers only to “digital assets” and does not explicitly name Bitcoin, the numbers line up precisely with the 18,712 BTC SpaceX disclosed during its IPO process. On June 30 Bitcoin opened near $60,136 and closed around $58,559. Dividing the reported $1.098 billion by 18,712 produces an implied price of roughly $58,679 — matching the market price that day almost perfectly. This strongly indicates that the entire digital-assets balance consists solely of the previously confirmed Bitcoin holdings, with no sales, no additional purchases, and no meaningful exposure to other crypto assets.

SpaceX therefore remains the 8th-largest public Bitcoin holder with an unchanged position of 18,712 BTC. Combined with Tesla’s 11,509 BTC, Musk’s two major public companies continue to control more than 30,000 Bitcoin. The SpaceX stash still sits well above its original cost basis of approximately $661 million (about $35,300 per coin), leaving a substantial unrealized gain even after the first-half markdown.

The broader quarter was strong. Revenue rose 92% year-over-year to $7.8 billion, adjusted EBITDA nearly tripled to $3.5 billion, and the company ended the period with $100 billion in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities plus a $47.5 billion backlog. With Musk retaining a controlling stake, future treasury decisions for SpaceX’s Bitcoin position will likely remain under his influence.

For Bitcoin treasury watchers, the key takeaway from SpaceX’s debut earnings is straightforward: the company continues to HODL.
